Short Bio: Eann A. Patterson |

Eann Patterson is the A.A. Griffith Chair of
Structural Materials and Mechanics at the University of Liverpool; an Adjunct
Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Michigan State University; and a Visiting
Professor of Engineering at the University of Plymouth. He is Editor of the Journal of Strain
Analysis for Engineering, and the International Journal, Fatigue and Fracture
of Engineering Materials and Structures.
He is a Royal Society Wolfson Research Merit
Award holder. He obtained his BEng and PhD at the
University of Sheffield, where he was appointed as a lecturer in 1985 and
became Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in 2001. He moved to Michigan State University in
2004 as Chair of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He was a professor in the Departments of
Mechanical Engineering, and Chemical Engineering and Materials Science; and
from 2008 to 2011 he was Director of the Composite Vehicle Research Center at Michigan State University. |
