A combined instrument
for reflection photoelasticity and fringe projection is available which
allows the shape of objects to be measured and photoelastic measurements to
made and corrected for three-dimensional effects. |
A fringe projection
system allows shape and deformation to be evaluated from single images using
phase-shifting techniques. The photograph
shows a 1/10th scale model of an Airbus wing with a calibration cone. Artificial heart valves have been studied
with the same technique scaled down. |
