The above flowchart shows the process of dot images generated in the infrared spectrum and recorded before and after deformation which allows in-plane and out-of-plane strains to be obtained in soft materials, in biological tissue.  The technique is non-contacting and non-invasive and is based on the principles of geometric moiré and fringe projection.  Some typical raw data is available in a video clip and processed results.
